Paul Galante

Strategic change that sticks

Paul supports organisations, management teams and individual executives and senior managers to lead strategic change and transformations more effectively.   His approach addresses the key challenges for leaders of strategy and change: how do we develop strategies that work?  How do we translate them into action?  How do we make the ensuing changes  “stick” in our organization,  through  the adaptation of both the visible systems and the underlying beliefs and culture?   He provides this support either as a management consultant, as a coach or as an educator – depending on the client’s specific  situation and preferences.

Two wings to fly

Over the last 15 years, Paul has created specific blends of methods adapted for  each  client and situation to enable them to achieve their targeted results.   These include both the human  and the business aspects of strategy , organizational change and transitions.  Commenting on this holistic and systemic approach, he says  “to achieve sustainable strategic change, you need to address both the ‘soft’ and ‘hard’ system dimensions .  You need  two wings to fly.  If you just address one, you won’t get very far, with any speed, or last very long”.  His approach is adapted for application  in real-world business settings, allowing clients to apply  practical tools  for rapid results.  “Our tools distil the essence of specialist best practice while being easy to use by managers in business organisations.”

At the crossroads

He has developed his approach through being at the crossroads of  a number of disciplines , cultures and business environments .   He is of French and Italian extraction, educated in the U.K. and U.S., and is based in Brussels, Belgium.   He is fluent in several languages.  His academic background includes a BSc in Chemistry from the University of London, an MBA from UCLA, and a post-graduate certificate in Organizational Psychology from Northcentral University.

Prior to founding Concerto Consulting in 2003, he was a director at Pricewaterhouse Coopers,  designing and  implementing strategic change projects across Europe.  Previously, he held management positions in a number of multinationals in the professional services sector.  His professional experience also includes being in the leadership team of an international, family-owned stationery manufacturing business.

Paul also serves as the EMEA Organizational Leadership Practice Leader at the Center for Creative Leadership.

As a result of his background and experience,  Paul is at home in both the worlds of large multinationals and mid-sized organisations.  He also understands cultural systems, how to collaborate across their boundaries, and how to change them when appropriate.  He has deep knowledge of the tools and methods which make for successful strategic change in large multinational corporations , and knows how to adapt them to the practical realities of individual units, functions, or of mid-sized independent businesses.

Multinational and mid-sized international clients

Paul’s recent clients include many well-known multinationals from a variety of sectors such as Lafarge (industrials), Nike (consumer products),  Yahoo! (web media),  and CGI (IT services), as well as many mid-sized international businesses  in a number of European countries.
